LE GRAND ALBUM DES CITROEN-KEGRESSE SOUS L'UNIFORME

Reference : 9791038012202
Year : NC

Text : Fr

When the word "autochenille" comes up in conversation between old car enthusiasts, the association of ideas immediately leads to the evocation of two names that have become legendary: Citroën and Kégresse. Although the former is not presented, the latter is no less famous for having invented, developed and brought to the production stage a system of flexible track drives replacing the rear wheels of commercial vehicles. Thus were born the first "all-terrain", light semi-tracked vehicles capable of running on roads as well as on various types of ground. And naturally, the main customer for this new family of vehicles was the French army. For the first time, all the non-armoured Citroën-Kégresse vehicles used under the tricolour flag from the 1920s to 1940 are reviewed, respecting the chronology, the technical evolution of the equipment and their various military uses: liaison cars, medical cars, light artillery and airfield tractors, mounted dragoon transport, medium-sized recovery tractors, etc. No model is left out, each one is presented in its own way. No model is forgotten, each one is dealt with by giving the first place to the illustration, following an unfolding solidly structured by the author's customary rigour of analysis and synthesis.
