LE RALLYE MONTE CARLO L'ÂGE D'OR 1961-1986LE

"The Monte-Carlo Rally is the most difficult and complex there is," said Patrick Landon, then sporting director of Renault Sport, in 1983. Internationally renowned thanks to its departure from several European cities, it became famous for its legendary special stages, these timed sections of pure speed, from the Ardèche to the Southern Alps, to the wind-swept Burzet plateau and the Col de Turini crossed at night under the flashes of spectators. At the Monte-Carlo, the standings could be upset at any moment because drivers, co-drivers, mechanics and team bosses would search deep within themselves for the resources that could lead them to victory.
