HISTORY OF THE T40A TANK TRANSPORTER

Built in 1976 by Perez & Raimond Paris (92), licensed by Willeme, and initially designed for a Chilean tender, this prototype, despite its good performance, failed to attract the various armed forces of the countries for which it was demonstrated.

Finally, this tank transporter project was transferred to the military branch of the Creusot Loire group in Saint Chamond in 1978.

After a period of testing and demonstrations in the Persian Gulf countries, the T40A was transferred to the Saumur Armored Vehicle Museum, where it remained for around thirty years.

Finally, in 2018, the Saumur Museum entrusted it to the CERPI (French National Center for the Protection of the Armoured Vehicles) for restoration. Key Features of the T40A
