Mouchard for our soldiers in 1940, artillery adjustment plane or rescuer for our wounded in Indochina or AFN, then tugboat for our vėlivoles in the 1960s, the Storch is now a star of air shows.
We will discover together its history, its numerous adaptations and its exploits.
The present work has been carried out on the basis of a large quantity of archives, both public and private. The latter have been exploited without repeating statements based on hearsay. Indeed, a large number of sometimes fanciful claims have been made about this device and an attempt has been made to clarify the situation whenever original technical documentation exists. No claim has been made for completeness, but an attempt has been made to come as close as possible.
The reader will certainly understand the complexity of the task and will certainly want to excuse any errors or omissions that may occur. This is particularly true for the history of each French aircraft which concludes this book. The archives of the post-war period are very incomplete, human memory was then more solicited and traceability not yet fashionable...
The author simply hopes that this book will bring back good memories to pilots who, like him, had the chance to fly it, to glider pilots who, like him, were towed by the "Storch" and will help all those who restore or maintain this marvellous machine...
Approximately 368 pages, more than 380 photos, diagrams and plans as well as about twenty colour profiles.
